On the 17th and 18th of November, I attended the Big Data Spain conference. It was my first time attending this type of events, and it was an excellent opportunity to meet experts in the fields and attend high-quality talks.
MesosCon Europe was held in Amsterdam from August 31 to September 2 and a small representation of Stratio’s crew was over there.
We’re just a couple of days away from the Spanish general elections and Twitter is boiling up with campaign related messages. People want to have a say in what goes on in their country and they turn Twitter to express their opinions and feelings.
Friday, July 31st is the SysAdmin Appreciation Day and at Stratio we really want to go all out and celebrate it. During the entire day we will be giving sysadmin related talks and workshops.
Once Data Sources API has been released, we’ve wanted to take advantage of these new features and, for this reason, we have developed a Spark-MongoDB library. With this new connector we help the growing MongoDB community to simplify the interaction with this datasource via Spark.
The Cassandra Summit 2014 took place on September 10-12 in San Francisco with more than 2000 attendants. The summit was split into 3 days, with Training sessions the first and third day and Conference sessions with 6 tracks on the second one.

The Spark Summit 2014 took place earlier this month in San Francisco, and Stratio was there! More than 1.000 attendees have had the opportunity to find out what the news are in the most active open source project in the Hadoop ecosystem, and they were quite a few!
Stratio kicked off its first Apache Spark meetups earlier this month. Our friends and members of other groups on meetup joined in when we announced the group in Madrid.
